Sorry, no take backs
Houston Astros closer Jose Valverde - obtained via trade in the off-season from the Arizona Diamondbacks for Chad Qualls, Juan Gutierrez and Chris Burke - needed only a third of an inning to close out the game against the Phillies... because he was pounded for 3 runs on 3 hits (2 of which were homers) to blow his second save of the year.
Although the Astros didn't give up much to acquire him, this is further argument against paying for career years, especially when it comes to closers, and especially when it pertains to bloated save totals (Valverde recorded 47 saves in '07). I could argue until the end of time about how overrated the save is, but that's an entry I'll save for a slower day.
